Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes that boost the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Typically items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while objects with strong bases, such as eth titans aren't affected significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional effect while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as a reward from missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players must select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade item components that have a type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding the word Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, excluding inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks, and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials required do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a select few items and maximize the impact of those items, instead of spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This allows the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy and it resets to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it can receive affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available is contingent on the item's base type. For example an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete based on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not reach its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the option to transfer it to a new character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.

To determine the height of a building, engineers will use a level to compare the measurement with an established reference point like a benchmark, or the ground's elevation. This method is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are built to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important aspect of the game that can increase the damage, strength or other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be done sparingly.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or an item of the same type. Recyclable items come with an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item determines the level of filling.

In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you would be able to get the stats that were important most to your build more often than other. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also have a unique bonus that boosts the item's power by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are offered in addition to the usual affixes. The more you improve a product, the better your chances of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also has a number set that grants the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on a unit. This is an excellent method to add a lot of power to a particular character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. This is because rerolling could offer a quicker path to a powerful character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They can have different sizes, have no elements at all or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or to sort information. They can also be useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, while some aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense value and set bonuses. However, weapon upgrades often do not improve the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have a lot of armor or weapons already.

Set items can be upgraded to include specific procs that are useful for certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into parity with their counterparts in their tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower level items can improve their defense, and make them more competitive when it comes to damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item upgrade's attributes and the required items to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed as well as any necessary items. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements for specific items.

In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when they are updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their performance. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this because its defense will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
