1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They feature motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model), they use smart mapping to create detailed floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like cords and furniture leg. They also have carpet boost, a feature which boosts the robot's power when it sees a lot of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept in removing hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save money. Additionally, it's quiet and can work when you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be replaced with an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performing combination vacuum and mop makes use of advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it also learns the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average when compared to other models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach beneath furniture that is low and along baseboards. During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire home, and it did so with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a great job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes, this mop and robot vacuum and mop vacuum is one of the most attractive designs in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's more expensive and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum cleaners best vacuum and mop with a variety of sophisticated features that let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, and cleans and drys mop pads.

The smart robot uses an array of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also comes with an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the home based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

For bigger homes it's recommended to choose a model with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a particular area of your home using the app or voice commands. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be very beneficial.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd think from its price. It is a great job vacuuming, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad that has a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. You can also set up a spot clean that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that is less intuitive and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
