The upgrade of an item upgrader kit lets players increase an item Upgrader Mod's gear rating up 700 points and also add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.

The number of stones required to upgrade the gun will increase until it requires a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is generally a positive factor, but it could also have negative consequences. Upgrades can make items inaccessible, unless you're extremely lucky.

Armor items can be upgraded to increase their stats. This will increase the base defense of a chest or helm while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it could roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain after upgrading along with the relative values of those stats. This means that an upgrade from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. Armor

Making a few improvements to your armor could make a an enormous difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. The more defense your character is, the more value you can get out of each point of health and it's crucial to improve your armor as much as possible.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total and each one requires you to complete a special side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. In general, you'll need at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a large group of enemies in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a few of your friends.

Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll have to focus on upgrading it for physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades for the helmets and chest armor to allow you to escape some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by a participant, produce a temporary effect. There are five types of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations.
