The item upgrade lets players increase the gear rating of an item by up 700 points, and then add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example the perfect roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade and aren't worth it.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats such as the chance to crit, attack damage, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons also have a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. Many weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a unit. In some cases this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon upgrades on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is usually a good thing however, it could have negative consequences too. For items that only see use in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example), upgrading them may render them useless unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.

Armor items can be upgraded to increase their performance. This will increase the base defense of a chest or helm, while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it can sometimes reduce its value.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats it will gain upon upgrading, along with their relative values. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining 3% of attack damage. However the 3% does not mean that it will hit 3 times less often because it's an absolute statistic.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu with the arrows that circle. This will roll the item and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to get through difficult areas. The more defense your character has, the more value you will get out of each point of health you possess and it's crucial to improve your armor as much as you can.

To upgrade your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game, and to unlock each one you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each will vary. In general, you'll need at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a large group of enemies in the majority of cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, providing the protection needed to survive the full-on assault with a few friends.

It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll need to work on enhancing it to increase physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of Mage. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be beneficial to have a few improvements to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to stealth around certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquid substances that, if consumed, give the user a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions that have different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.

Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them on a table or the chest of the Alchemist. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.

To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI that allows you to select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.

Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking it in your inventory.

There were a few changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For instance, splash potions now have a duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item upgrading). The table for potion is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. Also, putting a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the liquid and replenishes the bottle.

Finally, there are lingering potions that are made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to enhance their effects. The table of potions is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, such as the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece of jewelry. It could also be a small ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't essential, like a thimble. In some cultures a trinket is used to show affection or friendship between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons and armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item level upgrade upgrades trinkets, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their status.

Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a new trinket. One can upgrade a trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the old trinket but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Once the old Trinkets are no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value over time. They can be traded among players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

In general, players should upgrade items their highest priority items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other items of gear will not be replaced in the near future (for example, a ring or cloak). When deciding the items to upgrade, players must also consider the preferred statistics of their class. For example, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.

When they are no longer useful trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it can be saved using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than buying a new one.
