WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item level upgrade (click to find out more) by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

Crests

Players have a number of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for upgrading. Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them wisely. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
