The best automatic vacuum robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

They also feature carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it detects a lot of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned up quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept at cleaning hair from dogs. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.

However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and works when you're at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to take on dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, though. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for a wet one in just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic mop and vacuum robot vacuum for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensor technology that can avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and provide more efficient cleaning. You can change its cleaning schedule and set up zones with the well-designed app. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a carpeted area, which helps prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm is perfect for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. During testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could sweep the entire house and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a good job cleaning a range of rooms and floors with mixed flooring types, including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was great and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming this feature, which hasn't been seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy models of the competition. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuum cleaner reviews we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's loud that could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit costly however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing some more volume and some additional cost, this is a very efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes charge of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with the degree of dirt they are.

If you own a larger home, you should consider selecting a robot that comes with spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. Also a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would imagine from its price. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad that has a reciprocating motion, which does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate the mapping process, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app also grants access to many features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also set up a spot clean that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, however it is more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we've test. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin for emptying.
